South Korea Customs Service (Customs) released a data show that last year, South Korea seasoning nori, dried seaweed and other seaweed products exports increased by 22.2%, 790 million US dollars, a record high.
According to the Customs Service, driven by the "K-food" craze, Korean laver has been exported to more than 120 countries and regions around the world, including Japan, China and Thailand.
In terms of export destinations, exports to the United States were the highest, reaching 169 million US dollars. It was followed by Japan ($144 million), China ($97 million), Thailand ($66 million) and Russia ($57 million). It is worth mentioning that the growth of exports to Thailand and Russia is particularly obvious, 49.6% and 37.1% respectively.
